June 7th Seminar
January 1, 2008 by susangpyp
I’m sorry the March 8th event is SOLD OUT. It sold out quicker than I thought it would so please register early for the next seminar
June 7th Seminar
The next seminar will be a 6 hour seminar in June 7th in New York City at the NYC Seminar and Conference Center. We get to do much more interaction in the six hour than in the 4 or 2 hour so I think all seminars will be 6 hour from now on.
In the morning we will do introductions. We will talk about the general GPYP philosophy, we will talk about comfort zones, boundaries, affirmations and goals setting. We will have lunch and then do grief and loss including written exercises and group interaction. It will be a very very healing day. GPYP seminars ALWAYS sell out early. Please register early. Thanks! Early registration is now open: REGISTER HERE. Can you tell me where it is going to be held (if you know yet) as I want to try to book a room close by? Hope your holiday was great and your enjoying the new year!
Patrick,
it’s going to be at the NYC Seminar and Conference Center. That’s pretty central to everything.
Yes, the seminars are always held at the New York City Seminar and Conference Center which is at 23rd and 6th. It is in midtown near Madison Square Park (not to be confused with Madison Square Garden).
You can stay in midtown or even a bit further uptown. There is a subway station that comes right out in Madison Square Park. It’s a very nice area but you are not confined to that area. It’s very conveniently located.
If anyone traveling from out of town wants hotel recommendations or if you have one in mind and want to know what I think, PLEASE feel free to email me at susan@gettingpastyourpast.com
Susan–Do you happen to know yet if the seminar will begin at 9 or 10?
Hi Kathy: 10 am.
Any Marylanders attending?
At least 2 but I think 3 or 4. :)
I am going to be setting up a private email list for the registered participants. We’ll be talking about the seminar and dinner on Saturday night. If anyone wants to share when they’re coming in and where they’re staying etc., they will be free to. I’m going to set it up this weekend.
But if anyone wants to share here, that’s good too. :)
What will the topic of this seminar be? (breakup ?)
Yes, we’re going to do the basic program and then grief work and working through loss in the afternoon.
It was probably a silly question considering, but I wanted to make sure.
Hi Susan,
I’m considering the seminar in June. If I do, I will be driving from Buffalo. My cousin will be coming with me as well because I’ve never driven myself such a long distance before. (I started late in life driving and I have this fear which hopefully I will one day overcome, not before June though, lol :].). She will not be attending the seminar, but I figure that there is plenty she can do while I’m there. I understand that it’s 6 hours. Can you tell me from what time to what time so I can set up some activities for her on that day? Also, how much will this seminar cost? I’m assuming that grief is one of the topics, too? Personally, I feel that the seminar itself and driving myself will be such a huge accomplishment for me.

Thanks for registering! I’m sure it’s going to be a great group!
In regard to the June 7th Seminar, one of the members stated, “it’s going to be at the NYC Seminar and Conference Center. That’s pretty central to everything.” It’s not very central to me. I live in Colorado! LOL
Do you ever have seminars in places other than NYC?
My next seminar after this one will be a two-day pre-holiday seminar in NYC.
I am looking at Chicago and London for late winter 2008/spring 2009 but nothing has been set yet (I’m still getting familiar with the two venues).
The Getting Past Your Breakup book should be out by then and I plan to expand the seminar cities once it is. I’d like to do Chicago, London, and San Francisco next. My biggest concentrations of readers are (in order: East Coast US, Midwest US, Western Europe (though Asia is, for some reason, starting to come on strong).
Although I wanted to travel in 2008, it seems like NY is going to be it for this year. I try to do 4 a year but I’m probably only going to be able to do 3 this year.
We’ve had people to New York from as far away as Florida, Texas and BRAZIL! So Colorado: come on down!
In all seriousness, I’ve had 17 people ask me about reserving a place in the 6/7 seminar this week. Since 17 is too many (it will sell out long before 17 since I try to keep it to 25), I can’t so many of them have started to sign up.
Just FYI, I predict it selling out soon if even half of those 17 sign up.
