What a great article! Cheers to you and Michael! And to love after 40! :-)
Susan,
I agree, it is a great article and so lovely to see your story in print like that, as an inspiration to others : )
Having turned 40 earlier in the year – and yet to have a healthy adult relationship – I maintain hope of a real love in my life when I read stories like yours (yours, too, Kathy, I get a lot out of your comments on this site) and the healthy love I see in relationships that started around/after 40 : )
Thanks, topaz. :) Love in my 40s is unbelievably good. Really, truly. Definitely be optimistic and keep the faith. And enjoy life right now as a single person. There are many things about being single that I loved, too!
Very nice article. Good to know that it isn’t ever too late. My mother met her “Michael” when she was 49 and he was 48. She had been married twice before. He had been married three times before. They married and were very happy for several years. Unfortunately she lost him to cancer two years ago. She is still very pretty and young-looking at 60 and I wondered if she would date again. But she says that her husband set the bar so high that no one else will ever measure up so she says she’s content to be alone now.
